The Four Priority Sites were the first set of hydraulic structures identified to be so badly hit by the flood event of August 26, 2011, on account of which IUFMP became a necessity. They were located at areas where residents were mostly cut off as a result of the devastating effects of the flooding. The works took the form of constructing vastly adequate hydraulic structures to replace the damaged ones for the purpose of flood control, whilst also helping to reconnect the disconnected locations.
Four Priority Sites
- Ola Adua 3-Cell Culvert, Apete, Ido LGA.
- Saasa-Osajin 2-Cell Culvert, Apete, Ido LGA.
- Cele-Rainbow 3-Cell Culvert, Ajakanga Road, Oluyole LGA.
- Ogbere Pegba 2-Span x 15m Bridge, Egbeda Tuba Road, Oluyole LGA.
Subsequently, there was an extension of works at the 4 priority sites, essentially to open up adjoining areas and link up the channel to other network of channels.
