The development objective of the Ibadan Urban Flood Management Project for Nigeria is to improve the capacity of Oyo state to manage flood risk in the city of Ibadan. Some of the negative impacts and mitigation measures include: (1) compensation at replacement cost based upon market value of land of equal size and use with similar or improved public infrastructure facilities and services and located in the same vicinity plus the cost of any registration and transfer of taxes; (2) compensation of loss of crops based on current market value; and (3) for other business losses, average loss of business days income for 33 days and psychosocial counselling.
