The Ibadan Urban Flood Management Project for Nigeria seeks to support city management through undertaking priority investments to reduce flooding risks and improve the urban sanitation environment in selected areas of Ibadan city. This resettlement policy framework describes the process and methods for carrying out resettlement under the project, including compensation, relocation and rehabilitation of project affected persons. The categories of affected individuals identified include property owners, tenants, dependent women and children, handicapped persons, elderly or ill persons, and dependent household members/ families. Measures such as suitable compensation, replacing property, cash compensation for relocation, disturbance allowance, and movement allowance are identified for each category, and procedures for implementing these measures are also highlighted to ensure appropriate and timely addressing of these issues.
